Limited virtual program will be available for students next year.

While the end of this hybrid school year comes to an end, preparation for how the next school year is going to look has already begun.

In an email sent out to Annandale students and parents by the Office of Communication and Community Relations on Wednesday, the instructions for applying to stay virtual next school was outlined.

“The deadline to apply for FCPS’s limited Virtual Program is Friday, May 28,” said the Office of Communication and Community Relations.

This limited Virtual Program is not however offered for all students. The Office of Communication and Community Relations describes that students may apply to remain virtual next fall for “individual documented health or medical need (not a sibling’s or a family member’s).”

In order to apply for the limited Virtual Program, parents had to take specific steps by Friday, to be eligible.

“Submit your child’s COVID-19 Health Eligibility Form… Complete the Virtual Program Enrollment Application via the online application portal,” said The Office of Communication and Community Relations.

Instructions for the portal link were also disclosed to the students and parents at Annandale to avoid any confusion or difficulties one would have.

“The portal link will be sent to the enrolling parent/guardian once the Virtual Program Enrollment Team receives your child’s Health Eligibility Form,” said The Office of Communication and Community Relations.

Parents and Guardians are to receive an email by June 7 with information regarding a final decision. This decision will allow the attending student to either remain virtual for the 2021-2022 school year or enable them from doing so.
