Is the world ending?
The world is going through so much right now, schools are closed, people are told to stay home, Covid-19 (coronavirus) is claiming many lives. But was this all prophesied? In 2 Chronicles chapter 7 verse 13 it says “When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people”.
Seeing all that’s happened so far during this year you can see that, that verse wasn’t wrong. Australia was on fire since November and it hasn’t stopped yet but it has died down dramatically.
Then comes the locusts. Locusts are a type of grasshopper that travel in swarms called plagues. They eat crops they come across and every year they migrate in huge swarms and destroy crops and cause of a lot of devastation to neighborhoods. This year was the worst for farmers in East Africa. There were so many plagues of Locust that the air was full of them. They breed at such a fast rate there is estimated to grow “four hundredfold by June”.
Last but not least comes the plague, which is Covid-19 (coronavirus). This virus first started out in china because people started eating bats. At first, we weren’t really worried because the only cases were in China, then it started to spread slowly to other countries. It took the world by storm, no one was ready to handle the spread of the virus at this fast rate. Italy got hit the hardest but America is leading in the number of cases.
That’s not the end of it, there’s an asteroid headed our way in April and if it hits it will end all human life. Will this happen or not? We won’t know for sure until it passes or if it does hit us. Time will tell.
For now, we need to take this time and spend it with our loved ones and practice social distancing.
