Four student athletes who have committed to college for their sport

You might not know yet… but they do

Camille Cortes                                     Connecticut College

Q: How long have you been playing your sport? Why did you start?
A: I have been playing soccer for eight years. I started Because my dad played soccer so it was a family thing.

Q:Did you always know you wanted to be a college athlete?
A: I always knew I wanted to play college soccer but I didn’t know which division. Once I realized I didn’t want to go D1 and got my list narrowed down my decision came pretty quickly.

Q:Do you know what you want to study? If yes, what?
A: I am planning to study biology but I haven’t decided on a minor yet.

Q:What are you looking forward to in college?
A: I’m really excited because it’s in a new location and the team is great.

Q: How long have you been playing your sport? Why did you start?
A: I’ve been play it since kindergarten. I started playing because my older sister did.

Q:Did you always know you wanted to be a college athlete?
A: Not always. I figured it out around freshman or sophomore year

Q:Do you know what you want to study? If yes, what?
A: I am not 100% sure what I want to study, maybe something in the health field

Q:What was the scouting process like?
A: The scouting process was difficult and stressful. I had to look into colleges earlier than most other people and also had to apply normally because you can’t sign onto a team until you get accepted into the college.

Q: How long have you been playing your sport? Why did you start?
A: I have been playing lacrosse since the fifth grade. I started playing because my friends were and I wanted to try a new sport.

Q:Did you always know you wanted to be a college athlete?
A: When I first started I didn’t know that I wanted to play in college. After playing travel lacrosse for a while, I knew I wanted to play at the college level.

Q:Do you know what you want to study? If yes, what?
A: Yes, I am going to study business.

Q:What are you looking forward to in college?
A: I am really looking forward to meeting and playing with the team. I also can’t wait to play at the college level and experience something new outside of high school.

Q: How long have you been playing your sport? Why did you start?
A:I have been playing baseball for seven years. I started because my best friend played and I wanted to try the sport.

Q:Did you always know you wanted to be a college athlete?
A: Not always. Around Freshman year I realized I wanted to keep playing baseball past high school.

Q:Do you know what you want to study? If yes, what?
A: Yes, I am planning to to study biology in college.

Q:What are you looking forward to in college?
A: I am looking forward to a new experience and being away from home, but I am nervous about the hard classes and then trying to make new friends in college.
