Young Thug and YSL Records dropped the highly anticipated Slime Language 2, after almost two years since his last project So Much Fun released in August 2019. On Monday, April 12, Thug took to his instagram to post a picture of him and the YSL family teasing the upcoming album for his 8.3 million followers to see.

Slime Language 2 is the sequel to the original Slime Language, which Thug dropped in August 2018. That collaborative album features big names like Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Duke, Gunna, Lil Baby, Jacquees and more.

Thug’s Album is now first on the Apple Music “Top Albums” charts and has two songs from the album in the top five of the Apple Music “Top Songs”, Solid (ft.Drake) sitting at number two and Ski just below at the three spot.

The Album has 23 songs and over 30 features from other big name artists not only in the rap community but also just involved in the music industry. Some names that appear on the album are Drake, Travis Scott, Lil Baby, NAV, Kid Cudi, Gunna, Future and many more.

“My favorite song is Diamonds”, sophomore Keyshawn Stancil-Anderson said. “I really liked it because the feature is Drake and he’s my favorite artist. I think the album was a little over-hyped but it wasn’t bad it just could’ve been better. When I saw all the features on it I was excited for some of them, and some I didn’t really care about.”

However, this project isn’t just filled up with already high profile features. Slime Language 2 also serves as a platform for the up and coming artists like Coi Leray, Bslime, and YNW Melly to collaborate with the already big names in the rap industry, the veterans, Kid Cudi, Big Sean, and Future.

“It was cool to see YNW Melly on the album”, sophomore Jaelin Boutah said. “I was surprised when I saw him on a track just because he has been in jail for so long I wasn’t sure he would be able to make music. But I really like the album and how there were so many songs and a lot of features.”

Thug has already dropped two music videos to go with two songs from his latest album Ski, and Real (ft. Unfoonk). With the two music videos they already have a combined 4.7 million views in less than a week.

Fans are hoping that with his new album Thug drops a Slime Language 2 Deluxe just like he did with his So Much Fun album in 2019.
