“All American” returns with long awaited season 3
All American is a show about a teenager named Spencer James who plays high school football at South Crenshaw and is convinced to seize an opportunity of playing for a different team in Beverly Hills.
The show first came out in late 2018. However, it only started becoming really popular at the start of quarantine when people binged the show on Netflix.
The CW announced that the show had stopped filming because someone on the crew had tested positive for Covid-19, leaving tons of fans anticipating when the show would return.
Finally, Season 3 premiered on Mon. Jan.18 at 8 p.m. The following episodes will be coming out at the same day of the week, time and on the same channel.
Season 2 ended with a cliffhanger, but the first episode of Season 3 picked up where we left off in which Spencer and Coach Billy Baker have decided to go back to South Crenshaw High.
One of the most exciting scenes from this episode was when Jordan decided to throw a punch at Spencer. Meanwhile, Coop has just gotten back from tour and Tyrone’s sister decides to make amends by helping release Preach from jail. However, it seems rather suspicious that she would just come to help out those who were plotting against her brother and then leave.
Although the first episode of this season had some events that were thrilling and raised interest, there wasn’t really much going on compared to the previous seasons where there was lots of drama, so it will be interesting to see where the rest of the season goes.
The Black Lives Matter movement was also referenced throughout the episode since it corresponds with events that have happened in the past year.
If you are looking for a new show to watch that consists of drama and sports, this show is for you. If you enjoyed watching shows such as Riverdale, Legacies, or Outer Banks, I would definitely recommend All American.
