Class of 2016 holds senior breakfast
AHS’ annual senior breakfast was held on Thursday, Jan. 7th in the cafeteria during W4.
It started off with food and a slideshow of previous classes at their All Night Grad. Brief announcements were followed immediately after by the class board members, parent and teacher sponsors and volunteers.
“It was a breakfast so the seniors were able to sit with their friends and enjoy some yummy food,” Class of 2016 president Ashley Britton said.
Events such as prom, graduation and All Night Grad were discussed, as well as different ideas for raising money for them.
“We started off the meeting [after the breakfast] by mentioning our new fundraisers, like the matchmaker survey,” Britton said. “This is not a meeting that was packed full of announcements, because most of them will come from the graduation coordinators like Coach Hook, or the All Night Grad coordinator Mrs. Shartel.”
As the breakfast and the elective fair for the three other grades were held simultaneously, it was used as motivation specifically for seniors to push through their last few months at AHS and not succumb to ‘senioritis.’
“It’s exciting we’re already seniors, and I can’t wait for the other events we have [for the remainder of] the year,” Class of 2016 executive board member Rebecca Soulen said.
