AHS Peach Fuzz 2015
On Wednesday, April 29, Leadership held their annual Peach Fuzz tournament. Faculty members and teachers were included in this year’s game which usually allows only juniors and seniors.
The teachers came out on top this year, beating out the juniors in the championship game 25-23. The seniors were eliminated in the first round and finished in third place.
“It was my first time playing volleyball and I really enjoyed it,” Math teacher Michael Mazzarella said.
The players had a lot of fun and were excited to play against some of their teachers. Many students showed up to cheer the teams on to victory.
“The games were so much fun, I enjoyed supporting our class. The fans were also great cheering us on and we knew we wanted to beat the teachers, which made us more determined to win,” Junior Dini Mohamud said.
The seniors were disappointed in their performance, losing to the juniors in their last opportunity to participate in the event.
“The win against the seniors was fun because they were talking a lot, also it was fun beating out some of my friends on the team,” Mohamud said.
The teacher roster included staff members Aldenderfer, Behne, Hughes, Mazzarella and Petrov.
“It was very exciting and it was cool playing some of my students,” Mazzarella said.
It was a good time for many and the teachers look to defend their title for years to come.
“I enjoyed the experience a lot, my coaches and teammates were the best and we did well representing our class,” Mohamud said.
Even though the juniors were defeated, they still have a chance to win next year.
