Poe Middle Schools talent show

Poe Middle School’s finest singers, dancers, and other performers are joining together for their fourth annual talent show, Poe’s Got Talent.

The showcase, hosted by Poe’s eighth grade Theater Art Honors class, will be held on Feb. 28 at 7 p.m. at Edgar Allen Poe Middle School. Student tickets are $4 and adult tickets are $5.

Students in grades six through eight will display a wide variety of talents in all areas of performances. They have prepared theatrical skits, musical performances, and dances ranging from hip hop and breakdance to caporales and tap.

Audience members can even expect special appearances from some of Poe’s most popular teachers including Brian Weinshenker, Peter Kelly, Daniel Harman and others.

Although the show and the performers are under the guidance of Poe theater teacher Melissa Runyon, the production is largely student-run. The Theater Arts Honors class, in addition to acting as the shows hosts, held auditions, selected the acts, created act order, and wrote their own scripts for each act’s introduction.

The class, the performers, and all others involved have worked very hard for what they feel is a spectacular show and encourage the Annandale community to come see the performance.
