Four new exercises to try this summer

Weights are helpful when trying new exercises.

It can get boring doing the same exercises for your workout week after week. These new exercises will work out a new wide range of muscles.

1. Leg up curl up

This is essentially a curl up with a small challenge. Lay on a something that has a smooth surface but not too hard because that will hurt your spine. Then have your hands on your side. Lift up your legs straight in the the air, but if that is too much then bend them a little. Make sure your legs are completely in the air. Do the sit ups as normal.

2. Kicks

It may seem easy but doing it the right way will create a great exercise for the legs. First stand straight and have your arms in a jogging position to make it more comfortable. Then pick a leg to start with and kick in a 90 degree angle. If you kick too low, it will be not much of a workout. Repeat this on the other leg until you grow tired.

3. Push up run

Get into a good push up position, which is a straight back and your arms at a 90 degree. Then in that form, bring one leg under bended with the other leg still straight. Do the same thing again but switch the other leg.

4. Lean

For this exercises you may want to use any weights you have. Make sure you do not move up a weight too quickly or you may strain your muscle. Stand straight with a weight on each hand. Then lift one left up from behind. Have the leg stay straight and move it as high as you can. Lean your body forward until you are balanced. Stay in that position for a minute then switch.
