Christopher Newport University is a public college founded in 1960. It is only 260 acres, but it is filled with many clubs and Greek organizations for students to join. Events happen often in this suburban campus, such as comedy events, and festivals. Roughly half of students who apply get admitted, but the percentage is higher (64.9 percent) if you apply for early admission. More than half the classes have 20 or less students. About five percent of classes have more than 50 students, so this school is right for you if you want small class rooms sizes. The most popular major is general social studies. Over half of the students are female, and many of the people who are enrolled in CNU live on campus. There are many security measures taken in CNU, such as foot patrol and transportation during the night. CNU has financial support to students who qualify. However, health insurance is not offered to students.
