Last weekend I went to the Brad Paisley concert for my birthday. My friends surprised me with the tickets for the concert. I was actually told that I would be taken to National Harbor to go shopping and ride paddle boats. When my friend picked me up we were on our way to the National Harbor, or so I thought. She told me that we were going to stop and get smoothies, but when I got out of the car I was surprised to see a bunch of my friends with balloons and cupcakes. They came up to me, gave me hugs and told me that we were going to a concert. We arrived at Jiffy Lube at about 6:00 after an hour of sitting in traffic on the way there. The show started at 7:00 so we sat in the car for awhile until it was time to go in. We went in at about 6:30 and grabbed some food. After we ate we searched the crowded field for a place to sit. We finally found one directly in the front, just big enough for my group of eight to sit down in. Brad Paisley opened up with two opening acts, although I wasn’t too familiar with either, they were still really good. Brad Paisley finally came on around 9:00: he had the whole crowd jumping up and down for him when he came out. He is so amazing to listen to live! The night wasn’t just filled with great music, but also a few surprises. A marine who just returned from Afghanistan got up on stage with Brad Paisley and proposed to his girlfriend. It was the cutest thing I have ever seen. Then, during one of Paisley’s songs, Carrie Underwood showed up and did a duet with him.  I had the best time with all my friends. It was so sweet of them to surprise me and I didn’t suspect anything. After such a crazy evening, I slept during the entire car ride home.
