What extracurriculars did you participate in growing up?
Volleyball, the school newspaper, and Interact Club

Why did you decide to teach?
I always knew I wanted to be a teacher because I like helping others and I like children. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to teach for a while. I like little kids, so I considered elementary education, but I am such a nerd that I worried I would miss having conversations about literature, so I decided to become a high school English teacher. I was also inspired by two of my English teachers in high school.
