Baruch College is a perfect place for students who love the feeling of rush, the noise and people. This college is in New York City and was founded almost 100 years ago. Baruch is a place for students who are planning to live in New York because there is not too much space for students to live on the campus. The students who love to meet new people will be satisfied to learn that there are around 14,000 students that attend. Baruch offers many places to for students to visit, such as a bookstore, television studio and research facilities. This college also big on publishing; they have their newspaper, The Ticker. Most classes have around 20-49 students and the student to teacher ratio is 18:1. There are also larger classes and smaller classes offered, so this is great if a student wants a variety. The most popular majors are Investments and Securities, Marketing and Communication, Journalism, and Related Programs. The gender distribution is fairly equal. Women make up 48.9 percent and males make up 51.1 percent. Like other colleges, Baruch has a day care, health service and a placement service. No health insurance is given and alcohol is not allowed even for students who are 21. Baruch College has financial aid but 50 percent get the help.
