Tryouts and practices for spring sports are here!
The included sports are soccer, track, baseball, softball, tennis, and lacrosse. This year, tryouts begin Monday, February 25, but the exact date may vary depending on the sport.
“I’m excited about spring sports, especially trying new things, being on teams with my friends, and competing with other schools,” freshman Reaksa Khun said. “But I’m also nervous because there’s always a chance I won’t make the team, or if I do, I might not improve as much as I hope.”
Sports don’t just help students stay in shape; they also build connections outside of school. Since all spring sports are played outdoors, they allow students to get more Vitamin D, which helps improve mood and overall well-being.
“Personally, I love playing sports because I enjoy making new friends and sharing great memories with them,” sophomore Arthur Baxter said. “Plus, it’s a great way to get outside, exercise, and get stronger. I have never known a better feeling than sharing a win with my friends, coaches, and teammates.”
All spring sports have both girls’ and boys’ teams, ensuring that everyone feels included. Many students are eager for more opportunities to participate in their favorite sports. Again, Tryouts for all spring sports will take place after school from Monday, February 24, through Friday, February 28 with Track starting later to give students the chance to still have a sport even if they don’t make it to their number 1.
