After having a successful Fall season, the Annandale cross country team is working hard preparing for the District Championship.

The District Championship, taking place on Oct. 27, 2022 at Burke Lake Park, will have runners from Annandale, Falls Church, Mount Vernon, Thomas Jefferson, Edison, Justice, and Lewis. 

“I think that our varsity runners are going to perform well, we’ve been practicing since June and we have seen major improvements from all of our runners,” cross country Coach Carl Klein said.

The varsity team has been hard at work during practice to prepare for the big race.

“Our runners have been running 5-7 miles everyday, staying consistent with core workouts, and we have been mentally preparing so our runners are able to give their all during this race” Klein said

The cross country team has seen major improvements throughout the season, and runners are confident that they can build off of that momentum and perform well on Oct. 27.

“I think the team is going to do well, I think that we’re going to be pushing ourselves harder than we have all season to be successful,” freshman varsity runner Nathaniel Dosen said.
