On September 14th, 2017 something remarkable happened that made MLB baseball history. It was the bottom of the 9th inning and the Cleveland Indians were hosting the Kansas City Royals. The Indians were trailing by one run (The score was 2-1) and they had two outs. This was the last chance for them to turn this game around. With two strikes, Francisco Lindor was at bat and Erik González was at second base.

The 96 mile per hour pitch from Kelvin Herrera comes in and Francisco Lindor slams it left. Alex Gordon chases after it in which the ball bounces off the outfield wall and is just out of reach. Erik González gets just enough time so slide home to tie the score 2-2. The Kansas City Royals make nothing of the top of the tenth inning and give the Indians the shot at winning the game.

Just for some context, nobody in the last fifteen years in MLB baseball has surpassed 20 wins in a row. The last team to do it were the 2002 Oakland Athletics, which was featured in the hit movie: Moneyball. According to baseballreference.com, In 1916, the New York Giants (Baseball not football) went 26 games in a row without losing. But, the 13th game in this streak was a draw which is why the Indians earn the title of going the most games only winning.

This was the first time in the full 22 win streak where the passion and will was seriously put to the test. This game was one of only four where they won the game by only one run. The majority of their games in the streak (9 games) were won by 5 or more runs and more than half of them were decided by at least four runs which shows that they were truly killing it.
