PACE Pours, the student-run coffee cart, has quickly become a favorite for both students and teachers. Started in January 2024 by teachers Kaitlyn Shaw and Amber Greve.
“PACE Pours allows our 18-22-year-old students to practice many meaningful life skills in a real-life application,” Greve said.
The main goal of PACE Pours is to help students become as independent as possible. Each week, they work

on tasks like making snacks, following recipes, and keeping the coffee cart clean.
The menu changes every week, with sweet treats like rice crispy bars, mini cheesecakes, and s’mores bars, plus savory options like chicken sliders or mac and cheese.
“My favorite part of PACE Pours is cooking and doing deliveries. I like helping cook puppy chow and oreo truffles and trying the food we make when we have extras,” Senior Muhammad Ahmad said. “When I became a senior, I started to work in PACE. After doing it for a while, I think working for PACE Pours might be my favorite subject.”
The students earn “Annandale Dollars” for their work, which they can use to practice budgeting. They also learn
important skills like using kitchen appliances safely, matching orders, and making drinks.
“Our students have grown their ability to converse with teachers. They practice saying ‘delivery’ and handing over orders with confidence,” Greve said.
Teachers are a big part of what makes PACE Pours so successful. They place orders each week, and the money helps support the program.
This year, the students will use the earnings to treat themselves to a fun bowling trip and a pizza party.
Overall, PACE Pours gives students the chance to practice important life skills while having fun and interacting with the school community. It’s been a great experience for everyone!
