Spring musical sets the stage
The Annandale Theater Company (ATC) is about to perform the spring musical. This year’s musical is a comedy titled, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.
“My favorite part is getting to spend time with my friends and go through the process together. The memories are priceless,” senior Amanda Weaver said.
Weaver will be starring as Olive Ostrovsky.
“We have great student choreographers and I have a great student assistant director,” director Katherine Brunberg said.
The musical, unlike other productions, is an ensemble show. There is no one star and it showcases a lot of different actors. There are nine people who are on stage for the majority of the show, however, there is not one person that stands out as the clear lead.
“I think my favorite part is improvising with random people in the audience,” senior Jewel Coulter said. “I play Rona and she has parts where she gets to do that. It’s gonna be different for me each time I do a show.”
Opening night will be April 28 at 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online at etix.com.
