New Chick-Fil-A to open in Annandale
The fast food restaurant, Chick-fil-A, is opening a new restaurant near the intersection of Little River Turnpike and John Marr Drive. Chick-fil-A, best known for their chicken sandwiches, has already started hiring employees for the new location. However, no official opening day has been announced.
“I think that it is not a good idea to have a Chick-fil-A there. It is going to cause a lot of traffic on Little River Turnpike,” senior Finn Scott-Daniel said.
A turn lane was built on Little River Turnpike into the future Chick-fil-A. This is supposed to alleviate some of the congestion that will likely take place on that road after the opening of the restaurant.
“I feel like the new Chick-fil-A is going to be a good thing in some aspects because we do not have any that close to us, and I think that it would be nice to get chick fil a without going to Springfield or through Seven Corners.,” senior Anna Delaney said. “I think it will create a lot of traffic issues though. Chick-fil-A is normally a very busy place and Little River also has heavy amounts of traffic so I think that there could be some problems there, as I know complaints have already started. However, by the time it opens I will probably be going off to college so I will not get to enjoy it or see the traffic patterns change that much.”
