On Tuesday of December 10, the AHS Winter Formal was cancelled. Students and Leadership alike are disappointed.

“We cancelled the Winter Formal due to a lack of interest from the student body and we couldn’t meet the required number of tickets to run the event.” Leadership Vice-President Laila Elbany commented, “We tried just about everything to spark people’s interest. We had announcements about it everyday, we put up posters and so on.”

Along with Leadership, students agree that the cancellation was unfortunate.

“I purchased a ticket to the Winter Formal,” freshman Faissal Bahar said, “I was unsure of whether I was going or not, but it’s still really unfortunate.”

Students who have purchased a ticket to the Winter Formal will be refunded.

“People should definitely be getting their money back.” freshman Tayron Adu-Gyamfi commented, “They didn’t pay for the Winter Formal to be cancelled”

Leadership is currently recuperating and has shifted focus towards running the talent show, their next big event.
