MSA meeting features guest lecturer
Today, the Muslim Student Association held its third meeting of the year. The meeting featured a lecture from guest speaker Imam Safiullah.
He spoke about a variety of topics, with a focus on the intentions behind the things people do in everyday life.
Attendees enjoyed the lecture. “I think that the lecture was very interesting and inspirational,” junior Sara Sahal said.
“I think that the students here today were listening careful to what he had to say, and his use of analogies was a great way to get the students’ attention,” the club’s sponsor, Arabic teacher Ola Layaly said.
Layaly believes that guest speakers might be the way to make the club more interesting to prospective members.
“We will try to have more guest speakers and have a variety of different types of meetings in order to make the club more fun,” Layaly said.
For students who are interested in the club, MSA holds meetings on at least one Wednesday per month in room 226.
The club plans on having a bake sale in November.
