Marching band green days begin
Interested in the AHS marching band? You can be part of the Marching Atoms early by showing up to it’s green days. After an amazing year, the Marching Atoms are looking for new recruits.
“We had an incredible season, great leaders and looking for new atoms. We are looking to improve upon our Annandale established tradition,” said marching band director Joseph Witkowski.
Joining the Marching Atoms will give you a lot of opportunities to perform in different places. For example, last year, the marching band performed at RFK Stadium, which is the home of D.C United, DC’s professional soccer team. The atoms had the chance to perform at halftime and for most, it was one of the best parts of the marching bands season.
The green days are separated by different parts of the bands. Green days for Guards will be on Wednesday, April 26 and Monday, May 1. For Percussion, the green days will be on Monday, April 24 and Monday, May 1. All green days will run from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
If you enjoy playing the Percussion than you might as well show up for the green days.
“We are just hoping to get more people involved especially in percussion,” Witkowski said.
So, if you are interested in performing in the Marching Atoms, go check out one of the green days and experience something new!
