A NOVA school representative talked to perspective students about the opportunities at the school.

Many students attended the Career and Job Fair during W4 today. There were multiple organizations that took part in the fair, including Northern Virginia Community College, the Fairfax County Park Authority, Marines and Army.

Many students attended the fair in the upstairs gym in hopes of finding a summer job.

“I went to find a job that could work around my field hockey and lacrosse schedule,” sophomore Janan Gokturk said.

Students were able to find jobs that met their schedules.

“I was able to find a job at Lake Accotink that I would be able to work my schedule around,” Gokturk said.

Most students were surprised at the amount of people who attended the fair and realized they may have to work a little harder to find a summer job.

“I think I’m going to have to look a lot harder for find a summer job,” senior Lewis Folli said.

Other students were also able to get ideas about joining the armed forces, as well as other post-high school paths.

The Marines and Army were also present. They spoke about the process of enlisting and offered students an alternative to going to NOVA.

NOVA was also speaking and told students of opportunities they would have if they attended. One of these perks is that they have an agreement with all public colleges in Virginia and if a student meets certain requirements, they can attend any public Virginia school after they obtained their Associate’s Degree.
