The popular franchise Fast and Furious, by Universal Studios has just lost one of main character members, Brian O’Conner, which was played by the actor Paul Walker.

The unexpected death of Paul Walker occurred on Nov. 30, at 3p.m. in Valencia, California. According to The Washington Post and Walker’s Facebook page, he and the driver were heading to attend a charity event for Walker’s organization, Reach Out Worldwide, that supported the victims of Typhoon Haiyan.

“I was shocked”, sophomore Ismail Almar said. “He was one of my favorite actors that I looked up to.”

According to the Saint Clarita Valley, the driver lost control of the vehicle, and crashed into a  light pole and a tree, following which the car to burst into flames. Directly after the police arrived, the two passengers  were declared dead  at the scene. The reason what caused the accident still remains unknown, though the police said that speed was a factor that caused the  fatal accident.

Paul Walker  gained attention in the hit movie Varsity Blues in 1999, years later he gained worldwide attention for starting as  Brian O’Conner in the Fast and Furious films. Besides being an actor, he also had passion for marine biology and, ironically, cars as well.

His unexpected death has left his friends and castmates heartbroken, as expressed on Instagram and Twitter.

“Brother, I will miss you very much. I am absolutely speechless,” fellow Fast and Furious actor Vin Diesel said, posting a photo of Walker and him together on Instagram.

Walker’s most recent work was Fast and Furious 6, which has been the most successful film of all the franchise so far.

“ I was speechless and sad when I heard the news.  Walker was  such a great actor. I still cannot believe he is dead,” sophomore Crisley Leon said. “I grew up watching all the movies because I have always been a fan of fast cars and also of him.”

With Walker’s abrupt death, the studio now is struggling on how they are going to finish the last part of the upcoming film, Fast and Furious 7,  which was scheduled to be released the summer of 2014.

“ The movies will not be the same without Brian O’Conner behind the wheel,” sophomore Harold Alvarez said. “We were all used to see him competing with Toretto, and even if they find somebody else to play his character the films will not be the same.”
