During the two flex periods on Oct. 21, seniors poured out of the building, jostling to be seated next to their friends for the picture. The senior panoramic picture is a tradition at AHS and although it’s not in the yearbook, seniors can purchase the picture. In addition to having their picture taken, they also get to miss a part of the day’s flexes, because the process is so long.
“It’s worth it because you can always look back and see your class in one group and in one picture,” said senior Grace Franjie.
Even though height matters in most group photos, the panoramic picture is different. Seniors can sit where they want and with whom they want. Getting everyone situated took about twenty minutes; the actual photos took around 10 minutes.
“Gathering everyone together took the longest, but the picture really didn’t take that long,” said senior Julia Uglietta.
Other classes are envious because seniors get to skip class and get a group shot of their class.
“I don’t think it’s fair because the seniors get to leave flex to go take a photo that should have been taken after school,” said sophomore Jonathan Pratt.
On the other hand, freshman got a group shot taken on freshman orientation, however it was not for sale.
The whole process ended up taking the first of the two flex periods. The seniors can now use this opportunity to create more memories for them to take with them to college.
