Now that IB exams are over and done with, juniors and seniors can resume their normal school routines and stop stressing about huge amounts of studying.
After preparing for as many as four years, the looming of the tests has come to an end for students like senior Michael Lazar, who took multiple IB exams. “I took the IB Math, IB History, IB Physics, and IB Music exams,” he said.
The exams ended last week and now seniors are on the home stretch. Students must still wait until July to receive their scores.
“The tests weren’t as bad as I thought they were going to be. I’m just glad they are over because they were a lot of stress and pressure,” said junior Kelsey Knoche.
The IB tests were between 45 minutes and three hours long. After lots of studying and hard work, AHS juniors and seniors were able to complete the exams and move on with their day.
“The IB tests were a lot different than SOL testing. The IB tests were timed, that was probably the most difficult part,” said Lazar.
Up until now, upperclassmen have been spending their time at home studying and taking Pre-IB and IB classes for three or four years in preparation for the exams. “I am thankful that I took the IB tests because now that they’re over, I can relax and my year is easy,” said senior Elizabeth Flint.
The IB tests determine whether or not a student will receive an IB diploma. The IB diploma can determine the acceptance of a student into a college. The IB diploma shows that a student is capable of handling challenging classes along with all the other aspects of high school.
Hopefully, all of the students that took the IB tests passed and are on their way to success after high school.
