Album review: The Voice of the Heroes
Lil Baby and Durk recently came out with a collaboration album this week and everyone is going crazy over it. We know this isn’t the first time Lil Baby put out a joint album, but I think this is hands down his best one.
Some of the best songs on this album are “Hats Off,” “That’s Facts,” and “2040.” “Hats Off” was one of the first songs that caught my attention. You can tell how much of a great dynamic Baby and Durk have. Then there’s “That’s Facts.” This song is so catchy, and the hook went crazy. The way they came together was immaculate. Usually Baby outshines Durk but in this particular song, they both went equally hard. Everything about this song is amazing. Last but not least “2040,” this song is one of the most underrated. Lil baby starts the song off with a bang and Duck comes in after and matches his energy. They switched the flow up multiple times and went crazy with their bars, it’s probably the best song on the album.
When you get to the middle of the album things do slow down though. Songs like “Medical” and “Please” were on the emotional side, I can see where they were trying to go with them, but I honestly think they could have done better.
One of the downsides of this album was that there were too many songs, some of them should have been cut. It made the album look rushed and all over the place. I know I said it before but the middle of the album threw the whole vibe off. There were too many slow-paced songs.
In the end, I think Lil Baby carried this album. Durk did a good job too, but I feel like Baby’s verses went harder than Durk’s. I’d give this album a solid 8.5/10.
