Nicki Minaj and Tyga turn heads with “Dip” remix
Rappers Tyga and Nicki Minaj recently reconnected for their new remix “Dip” which premiered on Monday Oct. 29 on Queen Radio.
“I don’t really listen to Tyga but I really like this new song,” sophomore Taylor Poe said. “It has a nice beat to it.”
The two rappers have not been on speaking terms for a decade. However, they ended their stalemate earlier in the year when Tyga was featured for an interview during episode six of Minaj’s Queen Radio in August. Less than two months later, Tyga enlisted the female rapper for an assist on a Domain-produced remix of “Dip”.
“I really like the song,” sophomore Kaylyn Allen said. “I think adding Nicki Minaj was a smart idea because it makes Tyga relevant again”
Tyga, enjoyed a career resurgence when he released his single “Taste” featuring Offset, which peaked at number eight on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Unfortunately, “Dip” is not enough to keep Tyga’s rap career from stalling again — even with Minaj being featured on the track.
Minaj seemed to enjoy working alongside Tyga on “Dip,” so viewers could expect to see the pair link up more frequently in the future.
“We had a lot of fun with the video,” Minaj said. “It reminded me of shooting ‘FEFE’ with 6ix9ine, and we started late but ended up having fun.”
