Chris Brown’s run in with the law
After hosting a nightclub event, Chris Brown once again got in trouble with the law. AHS students reflect on not only this past weekend’s altercation, but of his recent and past violent background.
“I think he isn’t wrong because he acted in self-defense and anyone would do the same thing,” junior Akim Bangura said.
On October 27th at 4:30 a.m., both Brown and his bodyguard, Christopher Hollosy, were charged with misdemeanor assault of starting a fight with a man outside of The W Hotel.
Danny Onorato, Brown’s attorney, commented on the allegations placed against his client.
“Chris Brown committed no crime… We understand his security acted to protect Mr. Brown and his property, which he was authorized to do.”
Earlier this year and in 2012, Brown has also had law trouble including fellow celebrities such as Frank Ocean and Drake.
“I think it was wrong of him because punching the guy just because he was being annoying, was really immature and stupid. Especially since he’s on probation,” junior Allie Rehberg.
According to the Washington Post, after boarding the bus, the police arrived and questioned the two aggressors. Brown denied that he confronted and hit the man,“I was on the bus when I guess someone tried to get on and my body guard handled it”.
The victim suffered no serious injuries but is recovering from a broken nose.
Brown and Hollosy spent the night in holding to be appointed to a judge the next morning. The two men went before D.C. Superior Court Magistrate Judge Karen Howze Monday morning.
Howze required Brown to report back to his probation officer in California within 48 hours. Hollosy and Brown were both released, and escorted out of the courtroom by security. Brown still remains on probation from attacking his then girlfriend, Rihanna in 2009.
