Rock the Bells Concert Preview
Over 40 acts of hip-hop will be taking the stage at the RFK stadium festival grounds on Sept. 28 and 29. This is the tenth year of Rock the Bells.
The infamous Wu-Tang Clan will have an exclusive 20 year anniversary performance. The two day event will have performances from Juicy J, Big Sean, A$AP Rocky and Tyler the Creator.
“ It would be so cool to hear Chief Keef sing Macaroni time,” senior Chelsea Barrett said.
Artist like Jhene Aiko and Earl Sweatshirt will perform with a indie chill vibe. Juicy J and Wu- Tang Clan always pump up the crowd with party lyrics and their pompous stage presence. Classic 90s performers like Jurassic 5 will take the crowd back to the better days of hip-hop.
Newbie artist, Ratking and Mimosa will hopefully bring a new fresh flavor. Feel good rappers Common and Girl Talk will leave everyone smiling and swaying. A$AP Rocky and Chief Keef bring it down and always go hard with their intense and harsh voices.
“I’m more into party music that makes everyone want to dance. So, Juicy J will make everyone dance,” sophomore Kayana Murray said.
Kendrick Lamar will be performing with his crew “Black Hippy”. In an interview he described the crew as a way of life.
“Were making away for ourselves without getting caught up in all the politics,” Lamar siad.
The trend of large scale musical collaborations has advanced throughout the years. From the hippy vibe of Woodstock to the modern rock at Vans Warped tour. Rock the Bells has gone virtual with a holographic performances from hip-hop legends Eazy-E and ODB.
Tickets for both days are priced from $188 to $388 VIP tickets. Single day tickets are priced from $76.50 to $186.50 VIP tickets. Tickets can be purchased online at rockthebells.net or through telephone; 800-745-3000.
