Relive your childhood with Dr. Seuss’ book turned film The Lorax. The beloved writer’s book comes to life once again, but in 3D.
The Lorax follows Ted, voiced by High School Musical’s Zac Efron, a 12-year-old boy trying to impress the girl of his dreams, Audrey, voiced by Country songstress Taylor Swift. After expressing her desire to see a “real tree” Ted goes on a hunt to find one and win Audrey over.
On his journeys to find a “real tree,” he runs into Once-ler voiced by The Office’s Ed Helms, a very lonely and grumpy man. After asking for help to find the location of the ‘real trees’ insists on sharing his past with Ted, and the reason the ‘real tree’ is such a rare thing.
Revealing the real life theme of deforestation, Once-Ier informs Ted of his mistakes also telling him about Mr. O’Hare, the mean and greedy businessman also responsible for the way live, in a plastic world.
Although the title may lead you to believe the Lorax character, voiced by Danny DeVito, plays the major part in the film, the little orange, mustached creature isn’t in there much. Nonetheless the film was fantastic, especially in 3D.
