Moasic district prepares for Art Blooms festival
The Mosaic District is hosting its annual Art Blooms festival from April 2 to April 3. From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day the festival will bring in spring with a range of fun and family-friendly activities.
Some activities of the festival include a market of over 90 vendors selling a range of different types of handmade and vintage goods from local small businesses. The market will also feature over 50 vendors selling different types of unique foods, produce, snacks and desserts.
The center of the district and focal point of the festival is the live music being featured on the big stage outside Target at 3-6 p.m. each day. Two different bands will be playing each day, on Sat. April 2, Groovalicious will be playing. And on Sun. April 3, Hit Parade will be playing.
The event will also have many activities for kids like cherry blossom arts and crafts, different lawn children’s games, and cooking demonstrations.
Another activity for children at the event is the Vienna singing princesses glamor tent where kids can get their faces painted and hair braided by different characters and princesses.
For the first time ever the mosaic is also taking part in a new tradition and will have an egg hunt on Sunday, for children to celebrate Easter and find eggs around the festival.
For those attending the event and who are over 21, The event will also feature Caboose Brewing Co.’s Beer Garden and a Wine Garden hosted by Mattaponi Winery.
The event will be free to attend and a great free family outing to bring in the new season. This event comes after the mosaic fall festival which was held in November of 2021. The event is located at 2910 District Avenue, Fairfax, VA 2203. For those without transportation, shuttle buses will be available to and from the metro station.
