Broadway Desserts pushed utill late May
The choir tradition of Broadway Desserts that normally
takes place in late February has been pushed back to the
last week of May due to the rise of recent Covid cases in our
school and area.
“With the rise in the Omicron variant cases of covid and
the loss of the first week back after the break, I decided that
we needed more time to prepare,”Choir Director Patrick
Vaughn said.
“For this year’s Broadway Desserts. After discussing this
consideration with some of the choir leadership, the consensus
was to do just that, push the date to the end of May. The
new dates for Broadway Desserts will be May 27-28, 2022,”
Vaughn said.
Broadway Desserts is an anuual show put on every year
from our choir. The show consists of group performances,
solos, duets and trios to different Croadway songs.
After the show audience members can enjoy a dessert
treat outside the auditorium.
Broadway Desserts has been one of many audience
members favorite performances that the choir puts on.
“I’m glad the event isn’t getting canceled due to the
raising cases but instead rescheduled so we will still get a
chance to put on this performance because it’s a lot of fun,”
sophomore Anaya Thompson said.
While some student’s are bummed to have to wait, they
still understand the decision to push the show back to slow
the spread of the Omicron variant.
“I think Mr. Vaughn’s decision to push back the show
was the best one to keep everyone in the show and the audience
safe,” said Thompson.
Students and audience members will look forward to
seeing the well awaited performance in late May.
