The Atomic Confusion Improv team preparing for competition
Which “award winning assembly” is going to be performing on November 3rd? Annandale High School’s one and only improve team, the Atomic Confusion, is going to be displaying their unique ability to think and act quick on their feet in order to create a dramatic and/or comedic 2 minute performance. Junior Kyle Dalsimer, is the captain of this team, where he tries to “get the best out of everyone and prepare these young actors or improvers how to be open to any idea and let them come quickly.” One of the hardest tasks to do when being apart of this team, is to go all out and not reserve yourself in any way. This helps the people performing, be light on their feet and think of new ways that they could enhance the scene and make all of their variables (location, occupation and object) well used, as to get them a good score from the judges. Dalsimer said, “The whole team has been very malleable and easy to coach and work with, so this will be a very enjoyable experience.” He has been running a lot of drills to get everyone in the mindset of improve and see who can work well together for specific games such as arms: where one person is behind the other and is pretending to be the arms of the other person. So if you would like to see some the Atomic Confusion improvers perform these interesting games, make sure to come to their competition on November 3rd at Mt. Vernon High School at 7pm.
