Create geometric paintings without worrying about coloring outside the lines in this simple tape painting DIY tutorial.

 

Materials:

  • a canvas
  • spray paint (optional)
  • masking tape
  • acrylic paint
  • paint brushes

Process:

  1. Gather your materials. If you want your painting to have a background color, spray your canvas that color now. Let dry.
  2. Place strips of tape on canvas to form geometric shapes, an abstract look or a pattern.
  3. Paint your taped-off sections with different colors. Let dry.
  4. Remove the strips of tape. Your DIY tape painting is complete!
