DIY decorative vases
Use this decorative glitter vase tutorial to give your home a bright, summer look.
Materials:
- glass container
- glitter
- foam brush
- painter’s tape
- Mod Podge
Instructions:
- Collect your materials. This DIY works best with glass containers that have smooth sides.
- There are two ways to complete this DIY. For the first version, use the foam brush to apply an even coat Mod Podge to the interior walls of the glass container.
- The walls should be covered, but not the bottom.
- Add glitter to the glass container. Roll it in your hands and lightly tap the edges to spread the glitter around.
- When the walls are evenly coated, empty the extra glitter from your container and let dry.
- The end result should look like this. If there are spots of glitter missing, repeat the process until there is an even layer on the walls.
- For the second version, wrap a line of painter’s tape around the outside of your jar.
- Use the foam paint to cover the area below the tape with Mod Podge. It is ok to get Mod Podge on the painter’s tape, but not above it.
- Coat the outside with glitter. Once dry, add a second coat of Mod Podge and glitter and let dry. Add a final layer of Mod Podge to seal the glitter in place.
- Your glass jar should look like this.
- Your DIY decorative jars are complete!
